Jeanne Arthes- Capricieuse Eau de parfum review

Hello ladies,

I got to share this with you! I bought this gem at a small price and guess what: it smells very much alike to Yves Saint Laurent's  "Manifesto". If you don't know that perfume, let me tell you, it's a oriental powdery, seductive, creamy, warm vanilla. So, if you are into these fragrances, this is the perfume I recommend. It's classy but subtle... sexy sophistication without overwhelming sweetness.

Capricieuse has an interesting bottle, a bit kitschy but for its price, I did not cared that much.I just had to give it a try after seeing some reviews. For 100ml (3.4 ounces) I payed a fraction of the money I would normally pay for YSL. Its about 10% of the amount i would usually pay.

It starts off with a fruity, very slight citrusy feel, that soon blends in with a warm vanilla and caramel dry-down that is soft and delicious. It is a cold season perfume, its projection s quite overwhelming and it lasts for hours on my skin. A gourmand- couture scent, and a great substitute and for a killer price. You can't smell anything tacky in it, or cheap. So go for it, you won't regret it ladies.
I give it 5 stars out of 5 and will repurchase it very soon!

If you tried it yet please let me know what you think in a comment below, share your thoughts with us.

Love,
Sophie

Jeanne Arthes- Patchouli Sumatra EDP review

Hi ladies,

I've decided to do this review because I am really impressed by this scent! And if you read my blog before, as a perfume critique I am not easily to impress.

It was a blind buy for me, and its that time in life when you crave for niche perfumes but your budget is not enough. So you need to improvise. I never agreed to buy cheap perfumes,NEVER! I think I was a bit bourgeois about this, but this amazing scent really made me rethink this preconception and I am glad I have listened to my intuition when purchasing it.
So... After studying this brand which was totally unknown to me, I ordered it.

What drawn my attention was the name: "Patchouli Sumatra" it sounded so oriental and what drawn me to it, was one of the components . I love patchouli in my perfumes because it gives a subtle masculine scent. Makes them stronger, and i feel confident wearing them. After the initial shock, the amazing expensive-looking bottle, I had another surprise: the scent. It's smelling like Juliette has a gun - Calamity J. But the price difference is HUGE. About 90 euros ! What a bargain !
The first notes I noticed were really powerful, sexy, yet classy- hot amber and spicy cinnamon blended perfectly with sharp, pleasant patchouli. After a while, I felted a subtle sweetness on my wrist like tonka beans and a hint of creamy vanilla.
I could definitely recommend this as a unisex fragrance. This is a cold season perfume that lasts long on your skin, a perfect balance of earthiness and sweetness.  So, if you are into sexy orientals slightly dark and masculine, I advice you to get it !

I definitely will repurchase giving this amazing gem 5 stars out of 5 !

Love,
Sophie

Never let anyone bring you down. Stay strong and sexy!

Hi ladies,

Let me tel you a story. My story.

I've been pushed around in my youth, by many people and situations. I was shy, I was afraid to step up, to be a woman.
Raising without a mother figure in my life, I did not know anything about femininity, attitude, fragrances, makeup or dresses. I had to move mountains to learn the basic things a young woman must know. But I never quit. This road I took made me stronger. Now I know how to be a woman in a true sense. I know how to be desired by men, liked by women, how to wear my stilettos, my perfume, my makeup. I m always humble and never forget from where I came from, where I am now and where I am going. I am so grateful that I can be an inspiration to many women out there.

Stay strong, beautiful, smart and sexy!

Love,
Sophie

My "Summer wine" dramatic makeup

Hi my lasses,

I love theatrical makeup with bold velvety wine lips and deep purples and reds. Especially in the fall, or during the evenings. So I decided to create this look for you.
I used several techniques here too,so if you like this look and you have tried it on, just send me a pic, I would love to see how it all turned out.
You don't have to use the exact same brands I've used, you just need something similar.

Here is a link where you can watch it:

A gothic inspired tutorial

Hi my dearies,

I like the goth vibe in my makeup routine, so here is the look I have created.
A romantic, yet gloomy and dark one, called "the Edgar look" as a tribute to one of my favorites poets from all time, Edgar Allan Poe.

Enjoy!

Clinique Tracy Reese set review

Hi my sweethearts,

I always love makeup kits because they have many lovely products for me to try on, before I purchase the bigger versions of them.
So, what I got here was an 8 pieces set, from Clinique.  I will be reviewing 2 of them today and will get back to you with the others next week. I just want to try them on and see how they go with my skin, before I will make my review.

I never have tried their makeup so I was so excited when I saw it online, and ordered it without any second thoughts. It cost me around 40$ and I really think this kit totally worth its money.
Here's how it looks:

It contains:
- A a small eye and cheek palette with 2 amazing eye shadows (23 rock violet and 33 graphite), a small sized mascara (High impact), a soft pressed powder blush (01 new clover) and 2 applicators (one for the eye shadows and one for applying the blush).
 - A beautiful long lasting lipstick "Silvery moon"
- A small sized eye cream "Repairwear laser focus"
- A  hand cream "Even better"
- "Take the day off " make-up remover for lids, lashes and lips
- "Dramatically different moisturizing lotion" for dry to very dry skin
- An eyelash curler
- A colored cosmetic bag

The palette
This small palette would fit in every bag and it is perfect for touch ups.
Even though its quite small, it has plenty of product in it.

The 2 eye shadows are highly pigmented and very easy to work with. They both have a subtle shimmer and they last soooo long, even without any eye primer. They re on a cool lavender and dark purple tone but they work amazingly well on any eye color.

You could build a perfect smokey evening look, and even a day look, if you are applying less product.

The blush is a warm natural peachy-pink color that gives cheeks a radiant glow. Has a silky, fresh finish, too.
The mascara (on black) is giving instant volume and length to your lashes. If you want to learn more about it, I have made a more detailed review to this product on my older entries.

The lipstick

This is a pearly cool lilac color. Not so pigmented, but so rich in texture. It makes your lips velvety, hidrated and innocent looking. Has a subtle scent, and can last long on the lips.
It is ideal for natural looks or in combination with smokey bold eyes.

Ok gals, that is all for now, like I said in the begining of this post, I will review the other products in my next tutorial, until then...
Stay beautiful !

Love ,
Sophie
