Impresionism inspired nail art tutorial

Hi guys,

I ve decided to make a new tutorial. Today I 'll show you how to make your nails look like a beautiful painting. What inspired me was the impressionist movement and paintings like these:

I love nail art but I don't have time to do it so often. So, here it is, I really hope you will enjoy it and also try it. Its not very hard to do, you just need a bit of patience.

For this tutorial I used :

- a thin nail art brush

-some matte nail polishes (make sure that they are not glittery or neon like) : so you will need 3 shades of pink (the base one, and other 2 pinks -one darker and one lighter - make sure they are not very similar), light green, khaki, orange, white, purple.
-a piece of plastic - it could be anything- it will be used as a  painters pallet
-some paper tissues
-acetone
-a top coat to finish the touch

So lets start :  )

1. Apply the top coat, then the first layer of pink. Let it dry.

2.Then take your plastic and put one drop of every color you got on it. Do not mix them together

3.Dip your nail art brush into the darkest color you have - the dark purple and start making elongated dots on your nail like this (they don t have to look perfect). Mine look like small stars but its ok, keep going

(sorry guys about the quality of the photos, i can t seem to find my camera)

4. Put some acetone on your paper tissue and gently wipe the nail art brush

5.Apply the lighter pinks and the orange using the same technique (elongated dots) and wiping the nail art brush every time

6.Apply the light green and then the khaki trying to make some leaves. Use more green and less khaki. The trick is that you don t have to struggle to make leaves, just make bigger elongated dots with the brush (look how romantic and pretty it looks)
7.Apply a small white dot in the middle - that will make the flowers pop
8.Top coat
Done

They look vintage, romantic and classy

I also tried this on a base color like matte white, green or matte baby pink . Which  one do you like?

Good luck :- )

Love,
Sophie

Benefit - Finding mr. bright kit review

Hi guys,

I just needed to write this review because i really love Benefit products, but this small brightening mini kit was a real killer.

Kit includes:
  • erase paste in 02 (medium) brightening camouflage 3.2 g Net Wt. 0.11 oz.
  • girl meets pearl golden-pink liquid pearl 7.5 mL/0.25 US fl. oz.
  • posietint poppy-pink tinted lip & cheek stain 4.0 mL/0.13 US fl. oz.
  • high beam luminescent complexion enhancer 2.5 mL/0.08 US fl. oz.

I adore also the packaging, it comes in a small fuchsia box, with a mirror.
I love the details, the small recipients are so lovely.

Let me tell you now a few words about every product.

1 - the erase paste is a great concealer. What does it do? It conceals all the imperfections you might have, dark circles around the eyes, and so on. Its texture is great and you can apply it either with the finger tips or the concealer brush.

2- girl meets pearl - it s a pearly liquid- illuminator. It smells amazing, its really creamy and you can apply it so simple with the tips of your fingers. You may apply this on your cheekbones, brow bone, cupid s bow (above the lips)- this is also a trick for your lips to look fuller and more contoured.
This makes the tan pop, and if you don t have a tan don't worry: this golden pink cream will look amazing on any skin tone.

 3-posietint poppy-pink tinted lip & cheek stain
I adore any lip stain because I can actually get to kiss my boyfriend without him saying "ewwww sticky lip gloss". Usually all the lads hate lip glosses on their girlfriend's lips because when we kiss them, 90 procent of the product will transfer on their lips (the glittery color, the smell, the shine).
So i kinda get them when they say they hate our lip glosses. (that doesn t mean we have to quit wearing them:-)
So, back to the lip stains- i adore them because after you applied the product, it actually feels like you haven't any lipstick on. It lasts so long on your lips and you can look fantastic but also kiss, eat or drink. Another benefit is that it does not smell and its not sticky at all.
Same it goes on your cheeks. This natural pink lip stain can be used as a blush, just apply a small amount with the fingertips on your cheeks. Et voila, c'est fini :-)

4-high beam luminescent complexion enhancer it s similar to the previous illuminator (girl meets pearl) but this is more obvious, more shiny. It also can be applied on the bridge of your nose, crease bone or cheek bones.

Price? Well I got it on sales (yey 25 $) but you can find it somewere between the range of 28-36 $

I give it the maximum of  5 stars !

Cheers my sweethearts !

The Amazing argan oil and the night skin routine

Hi my sweethearts,

Tonight I am going to talk to you about the argan oil, or the "liquid gold" as the beauty experts call it, and how it can help us in our daily skin routine.  I actually found out about this when i started a few years ago to learn and play with essential oils. I was determined to quit buying all those expensive- full of chemicals- skin products and learn how to make my own perfumes, soaps and lotions with the essential oils i had.

If you are a busy person like me, you don't really find the necessary time to go to the beauty parlor and have daily or at least weekly skin cosmetic treatments. So, why don t take the salon at your home?
What you need is a bottle of argan oil. You can find it on your local drugstore or any bio shop. It price may vary but even if it might look a bit expensive to you, buy it, because its totally worth it.

After you got it just wait and see how many benefits you will get. It's not only a skin care product but also a great hair product.
It s great for split ends - just apply a tiny amount between your palms and rub it gently to your hair.  If you have dry /dull hair or use too much the hair straighter -just put a few drops of oil in your shampoo. Your hair will be easy to comb, shiny and healthy.
Also it does amazing job with your nails too. It makes them grow faster and makes them more resistant.Or cracked heels. Just rub a generous amount of oil on your heels, put cotton socks and leave it over night.

But lets go back to the skin routine.

The argan oil has amazing qualities for your skin (anti acne, anti wrinkles, anti dry skin). It’s full of essential fatty acids, anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals.

So this is my advice: before going to bed just follow this simple routine and you will see your skin glowing.
Clean your face with your normal cleansing gel. If you have a dry skin avoid anything like soap and go for a sensitive skin gel.
Then put in your palms 3-4 drops of argan oil and let it warm for a few seconds, then start using it by making circular gentle moves on your cheeks, forehead, chin, nose and neck/cleavage area. On the eye area tap slowly with the ring finger. I suggest that particular finger because it s the weakest and the area under your eyes is extremely sensitive.
Do this every night and make it your daily routine. It is better then any possible night cream or serum and its 100% natural.
You can do this each morning too, you just need 5 minutes and voila ! Your wrinkles are gone, your skin looks younger.

Oh, and before I'll go, you can make an awesome lip scrub with argan oil. Just mix 3 drops with brown sugar and a teaspoon of honey and its done. Healthy yummy lips, glowing skin, healthy looking nails and shiny hair.

Good luck !:-)

Yves Rocher shower gels review

Hi ladies,

I just bought a new Yves Rocher shower gel and i decided to share this with you and also make a review to the other shower cream i got from them a while back.

I love Yves Rocher's perfumes, skin lotions and also bath products because they are all bio, no synthetics added to them. In the past, I was like "I don' care about this bio -fashion" but when I tried products like that, it makes a huuuge difference between the organic products and the ones that have lots and lots of chemicals in them.
You can see it in the quality of the products (and I prefer quality, not quantity). The scent, the benefits that brings to your skin.

But enough about that. Let's talk about this amazing shower gel i was telling you about:

Yves Rocher - Jardins Du Monde - Polynesian Tiare Flower Shower Gel

First let me tell you that I did not knew that tiare flowers smelled so delicious!
These white beautiful flowers are the symbol of Tahiti, the largest Island of French Polynesia in the southern Pacific Ocean.
You know what is their welcome habit for the guests that visit the island?
They give traditional floral necklaces made of Tiare to them. Imagine how it would be to wear them ...amazing...

Their scent is so powerful, sweet, mysterious in an obvious way. If I would have smelled this 10 years ago probably my reaction would be "Ewww, to heavy", but now,  I just love it! It is similar to gardenia and jasmine smell, its sweet and attractive. It s great for a shower gel because your skin keeps that beautiful scent for a long time. Also I get to think of exotic islands when i am bathing, so its a win win situation.
Its composition is soft and unctuous, and it hydrates the skin with its organic components.

It costs just 2 Euros ( almost 3$).What can you ask for more?
Quality, great price, organic, lovely.

I'm giving this awesome shower gel 5 starts out of 5 !
I would definitely purchase it again.

Yves Rocher -Jardins du monde- African Cocoa Bean Shower Cream

This one is a shower cream and I am using it since a very long time.

I'm just in love with cocoa/chocolate/ gourmet scents because I am so much in love with candy. This one makes the bathing so pleasant, its like dipping in a pool of dark chocolate, with a few hints of vanilla .
Let me assure you it does not smell like the whole Charlie's factory of chocolate.Well. . .  Just a bit. The nice bit, not the lolly poppy-bubble gummy-synthetic bit.
Also this shower cream leaves your skin soft and nourished, like silk. Eatable silk :- ) Yum

It's price is 2 Euros, about 3 bucks.

I grant this delicious shower cream 5 starts out of 5 !

Kisses and hugs from me, your friend,

Sophie

Glitter rainbow nails tutorial -summer manicure

Hi my sweethearts,

Because of my experience in the nail salon, I've decided to teach you some tricks. So this is my first tutorial on how to make fast glitter summer colorful nails.
So...

What we ll need :

- any pink nail polish (the only rule is not to use one who speed dries)
-4 glitter colors ( i choose for this rainbow look : magenta, electric blue and deep purple-like the band, yeah!:) and gold for a special touch
-a nail file with pointy tip

-this is the nail polish I used

And these are the glitters:

-magenta

-electric blue

-deep purple
-gold

-the nail file

Ok guys, lets start:

1.Apply the first layer, let it dry

2.Apply the second layer and immediately (don't let it dry!) with the tip of the nail file take equal amounts of glitter and just be creative.Throw them on the nails.

It does not have to be perfect.  If you get messy its ok, blow, and the extra glitter will vanish.

3.After you applied on each nail all the glitter colors,, wait 10 minutes and then take any top coat and finish the look.

Your nails will look fun, glittery, magic and like you've had your nails done by a professional manicurist.
This look is both for short and long nails, square or pointy nails.

Mine look like this. How yours look? Send replies with pictures.

MEOW  :  -  )

Good luck!

Sophie

Sophie s home made soaps

 Hi sweethearts,

I love natural things so i ve decided to make some bio soaps myself. The first collection that i designed it is  inspired by some famous woman characters from my favorite novels.

I made the first soap, called Shirley (inspired by the free, happy, child-woman Shirley character so well written by Charlotte Bronte). It s an amazing vintage lavender soap, who also contains organic soap base, rose essential oil, argan oil and grapefruit essential oil. Also it has lavender buds in it witch make this soap a gentle creamy scrub. All the ingredients are organic.

The Shirley soap can be bought, it costs 2 pounds (3 Euros/3.5 $) a piece (+ shipping- it depends of the country you are living in).
If you want to ask something, to say"hi" or just to order a Shirley soap just write a comment and I ll be happy to answer!

Hugs ! xxxxx
